Information Regarding Online Event Registration
Step by step instructions for registration
1. Visit the Troop 17 website a at www.troop17shorthills.com
2. Scroll down to the Upcoming Events section
3. Locate the event you are seeking and click where it says ‘Click here to register for this event.’ (Note: Registration begins approximately one month in advance of the event date. You will not be able to register before this time. The registration start date is listed on the event registration screen.)
4. On the Event Registration Page, locate the “Register” button which is toward the bottom right of the screen. Click on “Register”.
5. Enter your ID and password
6. Provide the requested information and complete the registration process
7. If you have not already done so, we recommend you change your user ID and password to one which will be easily remembered. After you have completed the registration, scroll to the bottom of your confirmation letter and click “Done”. Then click on the “Change ID/Password” link at the top of the page and complete the following screen.

I forgot my User ID and/or password
Click here and enter your email address. The system will email you your User ID and a temporary password and instructions for how to login and select a new password.

I would like to change the User ID
While logged into the system select “ Change User ID or Password ” from the menu at the top of the screen. If you having trouble, go to www.doubleknot.com and select Client Login. Enter your ID and Password, then paste this link into your browser: https://www.doubleknot.com/rosters/ChangePWD.asp
I would like to change the password
If you have forgotten your password, see “I forgot my User ID and/or Password” above.
If you know your password and would simply like to change it, log into the system and select “ Change User ID or Password ” from the menu at the top of the screen. I click the link to register from the Troop 17 website and get to the event form, but there is no “Register” button
Registration begins about one month before the event. The “Register” button is only available only after the registration period begins. The date registration begins is displayed on the event page. Please try again after registration begins.
I have another existing ID with DoubleKnot. Can I combine them?
Merging multiple IDs is supported but, the specific impacts to the Troop 17 ID should be considered before doing so. If you are interested in merging IDs, please contact Jim McKenna at ssjsm@yahoo.com or Troop17ShortHills@gmail.com .
I am getting an error saying, “The UserID you signed on with does not have permission to this event”
This indicates a problem with the permission rights for your account. This issue needs to be resolved by an administrator. Please report this issue to Troop17ShortHills@gmail.com .
Which computers and internet browsers are supported?
Windows PCs running Internet Explorer (version 7 and higher) and Safari (version 4.0.3) have been successfully tested. Access via Safari produces some minor formatting issues, but otherwise works correctly. If you are experiencing problems with other browsers please follow the instructions for Other Problems or Issues below.
Intel bases Macs running (OS X 10) and Safari (4.0.4) have also been successfully tested. The same minor formatting issues found with Safari on Windows PCs appear here as well. The functionality works correctly.
Where do I register for summer camp
Registration for Summer camp is handled outside of this system. Please click here for information about Summer Camp.
I registered my son, but now we need to cancel. How do I submit a cancellation?
If you need to cancel an existing registration, please send an email to Troop17ShortHills@gmail.com.
If there is less than 48 hours before the start of the event, please also call the trip leader or the Scoutmaster (contact information is posted on the Troop homepage.
